How Do PIF Sales Help Sellers?
PIF stands for Pay It Forward, an idea inspired by the movie of the same title. If you’ve ever bought or sold on etsy.com, I’m sure you’ve run across these sales. What is it about, anyway?
PIF refers to an item listed at a bargain basement price as a good deed of sorts. PIF auctions or sales can even end up being free, less shipping charges and site fees! The buyer is supposed to list a PIF item of their own to keep the good vibes going, or do something nice.
It’s easy to see why the buyer or high bidder benefits! Cool items for almost nothing. But what can sellers gain, aside from feeling warm and fuzzy?
Veteran buyers are usually wary of spending money with an unknown seller with little or no feedback. They may take a chance for a super deal, though! PIF items are a good way to get positive feedback and boost your user rating.
This is a great way to make your first few sales on a new site.
