What Not To Add To A Store Policy Page

A “Policy” page should only include basic store policy information. This is where customers are going to go for quick answers. This isn’t the place for paragraphs about your inspirations, your dream project, etc. Personal information about the seller (minus safe contact info) belongs on an ‘About Me’ or seller profile page instead.

Often, links to other shops or online enterprises are listed on policy pages. It’s annoying for buyers to have to wade through a ton of links when they just want to find a simple answer. This can be avoided by adding a separate “Links” page. When this isn’t an option, at least limit the number of links.

Having any links open in a different window will prevent customers from accidentally navigating away from your shop!
